Another quick tip on basing, this time with some snow and ice!
I complete Fyanna, Torment of Everblight’s base in this video with some frosty ice, and slushy snow.
Some very easy techniques that any beginner can use for their basing, and they will look great. Painting a realistic and cold-looking frozen pond is surprisingly easy.

All colours used in this video are Formula P3 by Privateer Press unless stated otherwise.

Base – Ironhull Gray
Shade – wash Greatcoat Grey + Umbral Umber +Thamar Black
Highlight 1 – drybrush Cryx Bane Highlight
Highlight 2 – drybrush Trollblood Highlight

Base – Meridius Blue
Shade – thinned Exile Blue where you want deep-looking water
Highlight 1 – Meridius Blue + Frostbite
Highlight 2 – add Morrow White to previous mix

Use the final highlight to add cracks, frost, and snow on your ice.
Gloss varnish all icy areas with several coats of thick varnish.

Snow – PVA glue + water + snow flock. Thin as needed with more water or thicken with glue and flock.
Once dry you can cover the snow with more PVA and sprinkle more flock over the wet glue. This will produce a fluffy instead of a slushly-looking snow.
