This is a quick tip on how to paint some easy fire or flames. It won’t provide you with award-winning techniques for flames, but when you’re done, viewers will know for certain it’s fire.
This is a very stylized piece based on the card art, and despite the artistic liberties taken, your eye will still register it as fire. Real fire would have less whites and yellows and more oranges, and it is a topic I intend to cover more of in the very near future.

Base – Menoth White Highlight
Highlight 1 – Sulfuric Yellow
Highlight 2 – Ember Orange
Highlight 3 – Skorne Red
Highlight 4 – Sanguine Base on Coals, Embers, (hands, feet, and face) and all the metals.
Highlight 5 – Thinned Thamar Black on Coals, Embers, (hands, feet, and face) and all the metals.
Latsly, Pig Iron was used to highlight the metal cage, then it was washed with Thinned Thamar Black once again.
